  Innocence Lost in Transformation

In collaboration with MUD Foundation, the de la Cruz Collection will host Innocence Lost in Transformation with guest speaker, Vuk Ćosić, media artist, strategist, and recognized pioneer in the field of net-art. For his lecture, Ćosić will discuss personal accounts of the nineties net-art scene, with examples of artwork of his contemporaries living in Europe at the time. Topics of discussion will include issues of freedom, surveillance, and fear, examining the means by which avant-garde artists navigate within the digital sphere of the Internet.

Art + Hack + Data 2017

This lecture is part of Art + Hack + Data; Miami Media Art Weekend, a free program of co-creation, intensive talks, and exchange of ideas on digital culture and ethics. This weekend-long program is taking place in Miami, Florida from Friday, September 8th through Sunday, September 10th, 2017 with workshops and pannel discussions at PAMM, Bakehouse Art Complex (BAC), and the de la Cruz Collection. Media creators and hackers will work together on issues pertaining to the digital environment, helping participants understand and realize their own means of creative expression.

After an intensive weekend of events, an exhibition of the work created will be on view at the Bakehouse Art Complex through October 2nd, 2017. Partners of this programming include the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, PAMM, Bakehouse Art Complex, and the de la Cruz Collection.
